Andrew is a leader in CSE’s operations in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), an analysis method Andrew has utilized for more than ten years. Under Andrew’s leadership, CSE has developed partnerships with leading turbine manufacturers and performed in-depth analyses on all components of combustion systems. Andrew’s work in CFD has also been instrumental in developing cause-and-origin determinations of fires.

Andrew began his career at GE Power Generation where he analyzed and designed gas turbine combustion components—ranging from premixers to transition pieces—and guided CFD efforts for the Combustion Engineering Group. Prior to the formation of CSE, Andrew spent nearly four years with Hughes Associates, Inc. where he was responsible for the application of CFD to a variety of combustion and fire safety engineering problems. Andrew also possesses a strong experimental background and earned his master’s degree from Virginia Tech developing a chemiluminescence-based light-off detector for combustion turbines.
